Wow! It has been a BUSY holiday season for me. I loved getting to see so many cuties for my Christmas mini sessions! Here are some of my favorites:
What a lovely family! I had the pleasure of meeting these guys for a fall mini session at the Naperville Riverwalk. After some windy days and changing leaves, we actually ended up with a really HOT day. Luckily these kids are professionals and we were done in 20 minutes.
I love photographing at this part of the Riverwalk because very few people seem to know about it, so it's never really crowded. It'll be our little secret ;)
Look at these lovely people! This is my husband's brother and his family. We were at my in-laws' recently and decided to do an updated family portrait. How lucky are we that my in-laws have such a beautiful backyard?!
Wow! Adeline is already one! I'm always amazed at how quickly my little friends grow.
Sweet Adeline and her parents came by the studio for some fun. We started outside (again - SO lucky to have a nice spot behind my house!) to get some updated family pictures and a couple shots of Adeline in all that green grass. I'm loving my new lens that allows me to get those beautiful creamy backgrounds outside!
Then we made our way back inside for some studio portraits. Adeline's mom had sent pictures of her outfits beforehand, so I was able to decorate the studio around this adorable dress. Shopping for girl stuff is so much fun!
Her mom made her this adorable cake (she had a Wizard of Oz party) and we told her to have at it. She wasn't entirely sure what to do, but I think the cake smash was a success!
Happy Birthday, Adeline!
I love these guys! I've known them for forever and I love not only getting the chance to see these boys grow up, but I feel so lucky getting to photograph them! Ryan and AJ are always so much fun to work with.
For their family portrait session, we went to Fabyan Forest Preserve in Geneva, IL. There's this stunning archway that we were able to shoot in as well as a nice shady spot with trees and tons of beautiful green grass. I always love getting traditional portraits (5 years in a portrait studio sticks with you!), but we all had fun getting some candid lifestyle photos as well. I love when I can just say, "OK, have fun!" and shoot what happens.
My daughter even came with me for this session to "help the kids smile" and since everyone was so well-behaved, we got to have a playdate afterwards! I think we can all mark this day as a good one :)
What a cutie! I had such a fun time with little Rory at her 9 month milestone session. She and her family came to my home for some studio pictures and we were lucky to have a nice day, so we went outside for some family photos.
I've been itching to do a session with this white wood backdrop and the lilacs with my bowl prop and Rory didn't disappoint! Surprisingly, she just sat in that bowl the whole time without trying to escape! Her parents brought her personalized little stool and a bunch of books to use as props, too. I love stuff like that, it's such a good way to customize a session.
I love that I have this cute little spot behind my house that we were able to use! Plus I got to use my new lens (70-200 2.8 if you're interested) and I just LOVE the results.
I'm looking forward to seeing Rory again for her birthday pictures in a few months :)
Do you see how cute this baby is? Man, I love my job!
For Kinzie's newborn session, I went to her house with basically an entire studio. But since we were in her home, we were able to do pictures in the nursery and get family pictures in their living room. I love being able to incorporate more lifestyle images into my sessions and especially when big siblings are involved, it's nice that they can just go back to playing once they're done with their photos.
So we got family pictures in the family room, lifestyle pictures in the nursery, and then all the posed pictures on the beanbag, basket and flower bucket were just done in the living room. Lucky for me they have beautiful hardwood floors that make a good backdrop!
I was so excited to have a newborn girl to work with after all the boys I've had recently. I love using soft pinks and purples along with some neutral colors.
Welcome to the world, Kinzie! You are so lucky to have such a beautiful family and awesome big brothers that love you :)
What a sweet boy! Everett was amazing for our in-home session. At only 9 days new, he was already a professional model :) I loved being able to do these pictures in their home so we could get a new family picture in front of their new house as well as all the cute posed beanbag images I love.
Our big family has been waiting for this boy and HE'S HERE! And man, oh man, is he cute! He looks so much like his big sister. I loved doing a Fresh 48 session for my cousin at the hospital where she delivered. I love the chance to capture those precious moments and now we'll be able to look back at the first couple days. I am so looking forward to photographing their in-home session next week!
It feels like yesterday I was bouncing this baby so her Mommy could eat at a 4th of July party and now look at her! ONE! I love getting to see so many little babes grow up, it's an incredible perk of the job. And seeing how her big sister Annabelle loves taking care of her is just the sweetest. Happy Birthday, Evie!
You guys, this is seriously the sweetest family in the world, hands down. I am so lucky that we're (kind of) related and I get to see them at more than just photo shoots. And their family is growing! This little boy will start out so blessed having parents like these and Fiora will be an amazing sister, I'm sure!
So OBVIOUSLY I had to get my little girl in the studio for Easter pictures! And, as per usual, she was amazing. She loves going to the "picture room", whether it's to have her own session or to help get babies to smile. I love having her as my assistant, but I love photographing her even more!
Oh, and a little update: I'll be doing MORE Easter mini sessions on Wednesday, April 12th at the Fit4Mom's Easter event at the Naperville Church of Christ on 75th. Maybe I'll see you there?
My, how these girls have grown! I met Ella when she was preparing to be a big sister and she has really grown into her role. Miss Grace was a little nervous (I guess she doesn't remember me from her newborn session!) and Ella was such a good helper with her little sister. I think we got some adorable pictures from their Easter mini session!
Happy birthday, girls! I've been photographing these girls since they were about 6 months old, I can't believe they're two already!
It was so exciting get to meet little Sullivan! He looks so much like his big brother, Nolan, who I've been photographing for a couple years now. Just look at this baby! This is why newborn pictures are so much fun!
Four kids can be tough work, but these kids are professionals! We've had so many sessions together, I feel like we're related. And once again, they didn't disappoint! Merry Christmas!
This baby boy was so great! He went right to sleep and let us take a ton of pictures. I love that we were able to get a studio look for his individual photos; but because we were at their house, we were able to do some more lifestyle photography in the bedroom as well. Merry Christmas, Logan!
What a lucky girl I am to get to see this family again! And now that Lauren is expecting another, I'll get to see them again in just a few months.
We lucked out with some great November weather and got to do Nolan's 2nd birthday pictures outside. He was pretty excited about all the places to run! And leaves are super fun, too, of course. I'm looking forward to seeing them in February for newborn pictures!
Look at these beauties! Little Evie just turned 6 months old, so of course we had to do a session :)
Mom and sister Annabelle joined us for a few outdoor pictures first and then we came back to the studio to get Evie's photos by herself and some Christmas pictures, too. I can't wait until it's her birthday and we have pretty flowers outside to use for those photos!
When family visits from out of state, of course we have to do pictures of their new baby! Sweet Adeline is 2 1/2 months old and SO full of joy. I really enjoyed doing a lifestyle session at the house, I love getting all those emotions in the photo. And cousin Fiora happened to be visiting too, so of course Grandma had to get a few pictures of herself with both her grandbabies. I can't wait until their next visit!
